Mining Team Sapa/OGGI left third place in the water, but took the difference in the bike
The weekend has reserved a great emotion for Laura Mira, team athlete Sapa/OGGI Mountain Bike.
She won second place in the main event of the XTerra Brazil Tour, the largest off-road sports Festival of the planet, held in Ilhabela, north coast of São Paulo. The evidence counted points for the ranking pan.
The drop was at 8:00 a.m. on Praia do Perequê, with 1.5 km of swimming, 24.2 km from mountain bike and eight kilometres from trail run (mountain racing).
It was the premiere of Laura Mira mining in the Brazilian circuit. In the current season, Laura only competed in the evidence of the Pan American Tour XTerra, occupying third place in the ranking, with 154 points, against 217 of the leader Suzie Snyder (USA) and 184 of Kara LaPoint (USA).
“The proof was pretty harsh and the sun assured a dry clue. The rhythm was very strong and the new technical and exhausting pathway. I left third of the water and soon at the beginning of the bike I managed to reach the first positions in the tracks. Even with a knee injury I managed to ensure optimum performance on the bike and I made a very strong pedal. I am feeling very safe with my equipment and I did my best pedal in Ilhabela, conquering the second best time. I got cramped, but very happy, “reveals Laura.
This year the MTB has been more technical at some points than last year, with many trails and waterfalls crossing. This week the athlete to Alabama (USA) to run the Pan American with the best competitors in the United States to try to stay among the top 5.
All cyclists use a bike OGGI Agile Pro Carbon, helmets and rotating slippers and Shimano accessories.
